Exhibition Carpet & Flooring Costs

GuidesPhilippe Van Ameyde1 July 20265 min read

Flooring is easy to overlook until you’re standing on bare concrete at a show. Whether your space comes floored or not depends on the show and the format you book — and the cost of putting that right, especially through a venue contractor, catches a lot of exhibitors out. Here’s what exhibition carpet and flooring actually costs and how to get it looking good without overspending.

It’s one of the venue costs in our guide to the hidden costs of exhibiting, and part of the wider view in how much an exhibition stand costs.

Quick answer: standard exhibition carpet from a show contractor typically runs around £8–£20 per m², with premium carpet, wood-effect vinyl and raised platform floors costing more. On a 3×3m stand that’s roughly £75–£200 for standard carpet, before any upgrade.

How to Floor Your Stand
Without Overspending.

01

Check What’s Included

Some shell scheme packages include basic carpet; space-only plots almost never do. The exhibitor manual tells you whether you’re starting from bare floor.

02

Compare Contractor vs Stand-Supplied

Venue-contractor carpet can be pricier than flooring supplied with your stand. If you’re already working with a stand builder, ask them to quote flooring too and compare.

03

Choose Colour Carefully

Flooring is a big block of colour in every photo of your stand. A clean, on-brand carpet lifts the whole look; a clashing or grubby one undermines an otherwise good stand.

04

Consider Reusable Flooring

If you exhibit regularly, owning good flooring that travels with your reusable stand beats re-ordering contractor carpet every show.

FAQ

Carpet Cost
Questions.

How much does exhibition carpet cost?
Standard exhibition carpet from a show contractor typically costs around £8–£20 per m², with premium carpet, wood-effect vinyl and raised platform floors costing more. On a 3×3m stand that’s often £75–£200 for standard carpet, before any upgrade.
Is carpet included in exhibition floor space?
Sometimes. Shell scheme packages occasionally include basic carpet, but space-only plots are usually bare floor. Check the exhibitor manual — if it’s not included you’ll order it from the organiser’s contractor or supply your own with the stand.
Should I use a raised floor?
A raised platform floor costs more but hides cabling, adds a premium look and lifts your stand above the aisle. It’s worth it for larger or higher-end stands; for a simple shell scheme, good-quality carpet is usually enough.
