In a bold initiative to promote well-being in urban environments, IKEA France has launched “La Sieste”, an innovative concept allowing Parisians to enjoy mobile sleep capsules for a revitalizing break. These eight fully equipped modules were cleverly attached to trailers pulled by electric bikes, providing a practical, sustainable, and accessible solution in the heart of the city.
For this project, T3 Display Systems played a key role in the design and manufacturing of the capsule structures, ensuring a balance between lightness, strength, and visual impact. Using our T3 modular system, we incorporated custom curves and angles, resulting in a fluid, enveloping form that optimizes comfort while ensuring the mobility and functionality required for this urban activation.
✅ A Custom Design: The T3 structure served as the base for the pods, with curved elements and a fluid layout, creating a welcoming and immersive space.
✅ IKEA Signature Comfort: Each pod was equipped with iconic IKEA elements, including mattresses, duvets, pillows, cushions, curtains, and bedside tables, for an ideal cocooning atmosphere.
✅ Accessibility & Functionality: Designed with large doors and integrated windows, the units provided easy access and natural light, ensuring an optimal napping experience.
✅ Mobility & Eco-Responsibility: Attached to trailers pulled by electric bikes, the pods represented a sustainable and innovative solution in line with IKEA’s ecological commitment.
