An award-winning modular exhibition stand built for Somfy at YED 2026 Vicenza — winner of Most Sustainable Stand, demonstrating how the T3 system delivers architectural precision, seamless graphics and genuine circular design at international trade-show level.
In April 2026, T3 Systems Italia designed and built the Somfy exhibition stand at YED 2026 — Colfert’s flagship event at the Vicenza International Fair, 16–18 April. The stand was awarded Most Sustainable Stand at the event — a benchmark recognition at the leading Italian congress for innovation in doors, windows and smart building solutions.
The brief: design and deliver a modular exhibition stand that showcased Somfy’s leadership in smart building technology while setting a new standard for sustainability and circular design in the Italian exhibition industry.
YED is Italy’s leading event for innovation in doors, windows and smart building — a congress where technical credibility matters as much as visual impact. For Somfy, a global leader in smart building technology and motorised shading, the stand needed to reflect the brand’s engineering rigour while demonstrating genuine sustainability credentials in an industry increasingly scrutinised for waste.
The structural foundation of the Somfy stand was the T3 Frame modular aluminium system — tool-free, fully reusable and engineered from the ground up for a circular exhibition model. Every component demountable. Every component re-deployable. The system is designed so that the same structural investment supports stand after stand, event after event — with only graphics refreshing between shows. Zero structural waste.
The Somfy stand featured custom curved forms machined to 0.5mm tolerance — a level of precision that no competitor modular system matches. The T3 Twist & Lock connector has no fixed angles or predetermined sizes, meaning every curve is cut and bent to the exact specification of the design, not forced to fit catalogue radii. Full-height SEG fabric graphics across the backwall and panel surfaces — no visible profiles, no gaps, no compromises between brand panels. Clean, high-impact visuals that read from across the hall and photographed without flare or seam lines. SEG fabric is also graphics-replaceable: when Somfy updates their brand or campaign, the structure stays, the graphics swap. That’s the core of the sustainable model.
Lightweight LED lighting was integrated throughout the structure — delivering the visual impact the brief demanded while minimising energy consumption and transport weight. T3’s engineered LED systems, including T3 Wandlight, are designed for low-power continuous use with 70,000-hour lifespans — another layer of the circularity story.
The complete Somfy stand flat-packs down to a fraction of its built volume. Reduced transport volume means fewer trucks, lower fuel consumption and a materially smaller freight footprint — a direct, measurable sustainability benefit, not just a design feature. Flat-pack also means faster build, fewer hands required on site, and simpler reuse at future Somfy events.

The Somfy stand was awarded Most Sustainable Stand at YED 2026 — a formal recognition from the Italian exhibition industry that T3’s modular engineering delivers genuine, measurable circularity. Not marketing language. Not greenwashing. A stand that is structurally identical to last year’s and that will be structurally identical to next year’s, with only graphics refreshing between events.
