A record-breaking modular exhibition build for iGEM Jamboree 2025 at Porte de Versailles, Paris — 220 booths, 186 integrated monitors, 5km of T3 aluminium framework, installed by 7 people in 48 hours. A European record and the foundation of a three-year partnership.
For the iGEM Jamboree 2025 at Porte de Versailles, Paris, T3 Systems EU was appointed as a key supplier to design, supply and install the full exhibition infrastructure for one of the world’s most prestigious synthetic biology events — hosting hundreds of university and research institution teams from across the globe.
The challenge: build a high-performance modular environment across 220 booths, integrate 186 monitors with AV partner Novelty, and complete the entire installation in just 48 hours — without compromising quality, branding or functionality.
The iGEM Jamboree is one of the most complex and time-sensitive scientific events in Europe. With only 48 hours available for installation across a massive venue, T3 Systems EU needed to coordinate a build of extraordinary scale — precisely, reliably and without a single delay.
Using the T3 modular display system, T3 Systems EU’s 7-person installation team assembled the entire structure — spanning more than 5 kilometres of T3 aluminium framework — within the 48-hour installation window. Every booth was designed for uniformity and function, grouped by themed colours to create the event’s distinctive Village layout across the Porte de Versailles floor.
T3 Systems EU worked side-by-side with AV partner Novelty throughout the installation — pre-installing and routing all monitor and power systems across 186 screens within the T3 modular booth structures. Cable management routed cleanly through the T3 aluminium profiles — no visible wiring, no temporary rigging, no post-installation tidying. Every monitor live and aligned before the doors opened.
The entire iGEM installation was built from the T3 modular system, specified from the outset for redeployment across the full three-year partnership rather than for a single event.
5km of T3 aluminium framework, supplied mill finish rather than anodised — one fewer chemical processing stage at manufacture, and no surface coating to separate when the material is eventually recycled. Every profile was dismantled, returned to stock and held for the next Jamboree. No raised platform or decking was used anywhere on the floor, avoiding that material entirely.
220 counters in T3 Deco Black profile with tops of recycled chipboard, built as flat-packed units. Flat-packing is what makes reuse practical rather than theoretical: 220 counters that stack flat can be stored and shipped between editions, where 220 assembled ones could not.
Rather than treating each booth’s graphics as a disposable set, the backwall panels were specified to last the full three years, with only one small printed panel per booth renewed annually for team identification. Across 220 booths, that changes annual print consumption from 220 full graphic sets to 220 small panels.
T3 Wandlight LED illuminating the Community Rectangle, with spotlights distributed across the floor — all reusable fittings returned to stock. The 186 monitors were supplied on rental by AV partner Novelty and returned to theirs.
Most reuse in this industry depends on individual exhibitors each choosing well. Here the organiser specified reusable infrastructure centrally for the entire floor, so every one of the 220 teams received a reusable stand whether or not they had ever thought about it. That is circularity applied at show level rather than stand level — and it is what the Better Stands framework is pointing at.
